My name is Delaney Akins. I will be in the graduating class of 2023 at Temple High School in Temple, Georgia. I have been playing soccer since I was 3 years old. I am apart of the Temple High School Girls Varsity Soccer Team. I am currently the starting forwards for the girls soccer team. I feel I have the drive and ambition to play after I graduate from high school.
About two years ago during off season training, I started to experience dizzy spells and syncope. I was later diagnosed with a condition called Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. I have a reduced amount of blood volume in the upper part of my body when standing which makes my heart beat faster than usual. This has shown me that I am capable of overcoming challenging situatons. I feel that this diagnoses has only helped me grow as an indivdual on and off of the soccer field. I am very hard working and goal oriented. I have never made anything lower than an A on my report cards, and I am on track to do dual enrollment with a local college. I am looking forward to exploring all of the different recruiting opportunies I will have on this website.
