Isabella Lee '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Isabella (Izzy) Lee.  I am currently a Junior at Lyons Township High School and aspire to play collegiate soccer as a goalkeeper.  As an athlete and a student I have always been very motivated to excel and perform at the highest level.  As a high school junior I have maintained a 4.0 GPA while taking a heavy course-load of Honors and AP classes.   As a multi-sport athlete I have had many successes on the field, the ice and the court.  As I have been thinking about college essays, profile summaries, etc, it has forced me to self-reflect and evaluate what is important to me and how to recreate that success in a college atmosphere.  I've narrowed it down to two driving factors; my competitive drive and my support system.  When I am on the field, there is never a moment I am not thinking about "how do I win".  It could be at practice, a goalie training session or at the game.  As a goalie you need to be the eyes, the mouth and the last line of defense.  That is what I love.  Part two of my success has been my support system.  I have had amazing coaches throughout the years.  Be it my hockey coach, basketball or soccer coach, each of them has helped shape me into the player and person I am today.  Instilling work ethic, strategic insights, learning from mistakes and praising my successes.  Lastly, and most importantly, my parents.  For eight years they have driven me all over the country, paid for club sports, private training sessions and endless hours of sitting in the car waiting for practices to finish.  They have provided unconditional support, advice and love.  Without that...none of this would be possible.

As I finish up my Junior year and start the process of the college search, I am excited, nervous and motivated.  I am hopeful that the stars will align and all the hard work in the classroom and on the field will pay off!  I have loved every minute of my sports career and playing soccer at the collegiate level would be the pinnacle of success.
