Hello, my name is Diana Mendel and I am a Junior at GDRHS. I am currently a starting defender for my high school varsity soccer team as well as my AVSC Elite U18 club team. I'm also an 'A' student, with a GPA of 3.7. I am a member of National Honor Society and am working on my Girl Scout Gold Award. Its always been a goal of mine to play soccer at the collegiate level, while continuing to excel academically.
Soccer has been an exciting part of my life since I was three years old. I want to continue to play competitive soccer going forward into college. Every time I step on the field, I have the same goals in my mind, to improve and to learn. I work hard and I try to lead by example, always trying to bring out the best in my teammates. I consider myself a very versatile player, capable of playing in multiple different positions. I think some of my strengths are my speed, footwork and my ability to control the ball through my play in the outside/inside defense. I have played club soccer for 13 years now. I look forward to continuing my playing career in college.
Outside of school, sports and work, I enjoy many other activities. I love hanging out with my friends, running and bike rides, and spending time with my family. I also love hiking, mini-golfing and going to the movies. I am a Senior Girl Scout currently working to earn my Gold Award. I have participated in Girl Scouts since I was five, and plan on sticking with it for as long as I can. Some school clubs I am active in are National Honor Society, Shed A little Light, Creative Writing. Thank you for considering me.
