My name is Riley Fortna. I started playing soccer when I was five years old. I began playing for my club team when I was in fourth grade. I always knew that I wanted to continue to play soccer in high school and also in college.
I have been trained in all positions of competitive play; currently working in defensive responsibilities (defender). I believe I am skilled in defensive techniques including: heading, shielding, using both left and right feet. Good timing and anticipation, positioning and reading the game. I have been team captain of my club team for the last 4 years, which has allowed me to have leadership skills.
I have been a varsity starter on my high school team since my freshman year. My freshman year I was given the defensive award. As a sophomore, I led a defense that posted 9 shutouts. I was also selected first team All-State.
