Ava Lekanides '23 Recruiting Profile

I have always loved soccer. From the minute my foot touched the ball we became inseparable. I’m not sure words can express how I truly feel about the game of soccer. Soccer is who I am- passionate, persistent, relentless, and driven. 

Soccer has taught me to be comfortable with the uncomfortable. The past few years I have played with girls 2-3 years older than me and have been fortunate enough to have college coaches train me. Being the youngest has taught me to work harder, earn my spot and gain the respect of my older teammates. I am known as a workhorse- NO ONE will work harder than me. I am self motivated always thinking of the other girl who is still practicing and it makes me go that extra minute, extra hour, extra mile. Never say you can’t, always say you can.

I am a natural born leader on and off the field. As the oldest of three, I strive to set a good example and show my siblings that nothing in life is given and the key to success is hard work. I am in honors and accelerated classes. At school I belong to the miracle club- a club dedicated to cancer care, research, and education. We hold events to raise money for those in need. I love helping others and making others happy. I hope one day I can bring a smile to people's faces through my soccer. I will let nothing stop me from achieving my goals.
