My number one goal after high school is to enroll in a 4-year university/college. My second goal is to be able to continue playing soccer at the collegiate level. I'd make a great addition to any team! I'm a natural-born leader, as I was named Captain of all my teams in 8th grade & continued on as a Captain my freshman year. As a goalie I lead my team around the field, positioning my defenders & cheering on my offense. I'm willing to do whatever is asked of me, what is needed of me, to help my team for the better. For my 2019 season, I was asked to leave the goal for the season to play forward, filling a void that was left by a 2018 senior. With a game tied 1-1, I was able to score off an assist from my teammate giving our team the win. Although this was an exciting experience I am beyond ready to be back in the goal for my 2020 season.
In my first three years as a high school student, I've been able to play 3 sports, join many extra-curricular activities, volunteer, all while keeping up my vigorous academic schedule. In 2018, I took on a leadership role in FCA. I am a member of the Statesville High School Beta Club and I was selected for the 2019-2020 Iredell Statesville Leadership Program. I'm very active in my church, volunteering as an acolyte, serving communion, attending youth on a regular basis, helping with Vacation Bible School, & have currently gone on four mission trips. I have participated in Special Olympics, helping the boys & girls throughout their events. I'm looking forward to being a part of this event again! In the fall of 2018, I spent my Friday nights on the football field helping our athletic trainer.
In the fall of 2019, sophomores and juniors were given the opportunity to fill out an application for a trip to China. I am unsure of how many applied but out of those who did, it was narrowed down to 20 students. Those 20 students were then asked to get 2 teacher recommendations. Once the recommendations were reviewed, 10 students were selected as the final participants. I am excited to have been chosen for this opportunity.
As you can see I'm very versatile & very well-rounded. I feel like I would make a great asset to any university and to any team.
