Caroline Merchant '22 Recruiting Profile

I am a multi-position player from Gloucester, Virginia.  Although, I can play anywhere I am usually Attacking Midfield.  I have been a 4-year starter on Varsity and 1-year starter on JV as an 8^th grader for my high school team.  I was 2^nd team all-district Midfielder my freshman year of high school.

I started playing soccer when I was 5 years old on a Parks & Rec team.  I moved on quickly to Baystars FC as 1 of 2 girls on a boy’s league team.  I was a starter for defense during those years. I moved on to a girls’ team Virginia Legacy CCL team and was a starter for Midfield, Forward and Striker.  I am now a starter as Attacking Midfield on the Tidewater Sharks ENCL 2002-2003 for the last 3 years.  When I am not playing soccer, I’m playing volleyball.  I have been a starter on the JV team 8^th -10^th grade. JV captain 9th & 10th grade and Varsity Volleyball captain 11th & 12th grade I also have my open water PADI SCUBA Certification that I have had since I was 10 years old.  I love to surf, paddleboard and anything involving water sports.

I am looking for a school where I can get a good education and get the chance to play the sport I love.  I am currently undecided on what I want to study, but I am looking into philosophy or psychology.  Ideally want to be on a team that can have fun but is also hard working and takes the sport seriously I have a great field of vision and am a leader on my teams.  I am always up for improvement both on the field and in my personal life.  I would love to have the opportunity to be at a college with a supportive team where I can do that.
