My name is Delaney Pearson and I am currently a junior at Tuscarora High School in Leesburg, Virginia. I have played soccer since I was 3 years old and have always wanted to play in college like my dad. I tried out for my dream club and didn't make it the first year of travel soccer so I went to another club and started on their lowest team. A few years later, I tried out again at the first club and made their lowest team and have built my way up from their lowest team to the top team in our age group. I have played the last three years on the Loudoun 06 girls ECNL team. I also play high school soccer at Tuscarora and this spring my team and I were 4A State Finalists. I was a sophomore captain on this team and was awarded 2nd team all district. I have played several positions including defensive midfielder (main position), center back, outside back, and attacking midfielder.
I am very coach-able and have a really high work ethic. I am a leader on my team and like to think of myself as a selfless player when playing with my team. I watch a lot of professional soccer and women's college soccer to understand roles and positions of the game. I always watch my game tape to learn from my mistakes and to point out my positives.
School is really important to me and I currently have a GPA of 4.32. I take school very seriously because I want to go to a big college and potentially study communications.
