Hello everyone! My name is Deanna Parot.
I recently graduated Canyon Hills High School (formally known as Serra) with honors and a 4.26 (weighted) GPA. I am committed to Norwich University and a part of the Cadet Corps, Air Force ROTC and their Division III Swim Team. Swimming is very important to me, but I never forget how valuable education is, and I strive to keep my GPA a 4.0, or at least above a 3.50. I am looking forward to majoring in Computer Science and maybe minor in computer or mechanical engineering.
A little background on my athletic history. I swam all four years on the varsity swim team and was team captain for both my Junior and Senior Year. As team captain, not only is it important to lead by example, but also to communicate with the coach, set goals, inspire, display a positive attitude, have integrity, make good decisions, help teammates when they are in need, motivate and build a good relationship with the team.
Sometimes after having a "bad" race, I do not want to quit what I love. I sincerely believe that I gain from my experience and learn what I can to strengthen my performance. Even though swimming is considered an individual sport, I am always committed to support and assist my teammates.
