My name is Maryam Khalil. I am currently a senior at the Wiregrass Ranch High school in Wesley Chapel, Florida and will be graduating in May of 2022. I have 12+ years of competitive swimming experience. I swim currently for my high school swim team and for the Tampa Elite Aquatic Manta Rays (TEAM) at Tampa, FL. I have competed in the AAU, overseas in National championships in the UAE, I have also competed in the Saudi Arabian nationals, the Egyptian nationals and the British Schools in the Middle east (BSME) international competitions. I successfully won several Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in almost all the previously mentioned competitions. Currently I swim for the Tampa Elite Aquatic Manta Rays (TEAM).
I am also a dedicated student. My classes have increased in rigor since my freshman year and as the difficulty of my classes has increased, I have maintained high grades.
In addition to swimming and my academics I participate in several extracurricular activities. I am an active member of the National Honor Society, and Math Honors Society, I am also part of several other clubs. I also do many service projects in the Tampa Bay community. I have volunteered over thanksgiving break at Church which was a part of the Firefighting/EMT program that I am currently in, the New Tampa Regional Library, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Tampa Elite Aquatic Manta Rays. I have also participated twice in Swim Across America. This is an open water swim competition in which we raise money for the Moffitt Cancer Center, right here in Tampa. 2 years ago, I swam one mile and raised about $300. Last year I swam 2 miles and raised about $300.

- 8 times a week in the water , and at least 4 times in the gym.

- I swim in the afternoon Mondays through Thursday , and swim times a 4 times a week in the morning including Saturday . In addition i weight train and go to the gym at least 4 times a week.
