Swimming has been a significant part of my life since I was six years old. As I developed and became more successful as a swimmer, I made it a personal goal to one day swim at the collegiate level. In order to achieve this goal, I have worked extremely hard both in and out of the pool. I believe my work ethic in both swimming and academics will translate well into a collegiate program.
I have put in an extraordinary amount of time and effort over the course of my swimming career to accomplish the goals I set forth from the achievement of Texas Age Group Swimming qualifications from age 9 to 14, Sectional qualifications from age 12 to 17, UIL Texas Swimming Class 5-A High School state qualifications (freshmen, sophomore and junior years) and most recently Junior Nationals qualifier. I now have moved forward to my next goal of achieving an Olympic Trial cut and swimming for a collegiate swim team where I can contribute to the success of the program. I have no doubt I can achieve both of my new goals.
I possess a positive, can-do attitude and I am always willing to help my fellow team members. While I have had success over the years swimming, academic success also is very important to me. I have and continue to work very hard to maintain my grade point average and class ranking while managing an extensive USA and UIL swimming schedule. Despite my strenuous workout schedule, I managed to maintain grades to merit my induction into the National Honor Society.
I also look for opportunities to take on leadership roles through swimming and other activities. For example, over the Christmas holiday, I took time to organize a care package drive through my USA swim team where we sent over one hundred care packages to our US troops serving overseas.
I understand the importance of an opportunity to be able to swim and at the same time get a quality education. Should your program decide to invest in me, what you will get is someone with good character, one who works hard both in and out of the pool and a person who wants to be there.
I look forward to the process.
