I want to go to college to further my education, but I also want to find a school where I can continue swimming competitively, because I love the sport, and I couldn't imagine my life without it. I have been swimming on swim teams for 12 years. I started swimming for my summer team at the age of 5 and I have been swimming competitively ever since. I currently swim for three teams: my FBST club team, my West Potomac high school team, and my Waynewood Dolphin summer team.
I was nominated as a junior captain for my high school team this year and I really loved it. My favorite part was organizing events for the team, like where to eat after a home meets, painting the rock at the high school, promoting Thursday team dinners, and helping the freshman feel like a part of the team. I really look forward to being a senior captain next year, and taking on a bigger leadership role.
Besides swimming for teams, I have been a coach to my summer league team for 4 years now, coaching during the summer and winter months, for kids of all different ages. I started life guarding last year, and by the end of the season, I was promoted to a shift manager, and received pool operator training.
My career goal is to become a dietitian. I love eating healthy and staying as fit as I can. I have been taking personal fitness as an elective at my high school since 9th grade and I plan to become a certified fitness trainer before I graduate.
I am looking forward to becoming a part of a new team, making new friends at college, and getting involved in clubs and other activities.
