I originally joined the track team in 7th grade with the intent of staying in shape for basketball. However, I quickly fell in love with the sport. I loved the competitiveness and camaraderie found on the track team. One of things that really drew me into track was that the times I posted were a result of my individual effort and hard work I put in to prepare for races.
I found success early in track and quickly contributed to the varsity team in various events. My freshman year I was named "Newcomer MVP" and selected as a Captain for my sophomore and junior years. I continue to be a 3 sport athlete and value the skills I have developed from each activity. It was very disappointing to have my junior year track season cut short due to the Corona Virus. However, I have continued to workout at the track on my own and have become even more committed to making my senior successful. I have realized how important track is to me and how much I want to be a part of a solid college program to continue this sport after high school.
Academics are also very important to me and I strive to maintain good grades in order to be accepted into a top notch university where I hope to pursue a degree in the health field. I am passionate about track and am ready to commit myself to the sacrifices needed to be a successful athlete at the high school and college level.
