I started running when I was 5 years old. My dad would take me to run on the trails and I soon began to participate in a local club team for cross country and track. Additionally, I was involved in other sports as well: soccer and basketball. However, as my passion for running continued to grow, I decided to focus primarily on running when competing at the high school level. I have had many coaches along the way who have helped me improve significantly and I'm eager to keep improving.
I've always been a part of a sports team throughout my life, which has shown me the benefits of being on a team. Having a team that is encouraging and supportive is extremely important when competing and I'm looking forward to being part of a college team that values hard work and who will uplift each other through each season.
The highlight of my high school career so far has been winning the individual Class 3 Cross Country State Championship title my freshman year and helping my team win the State Championship that same year. Additionally, another highlight has been when I got second place by 0.4 seconds in the Class 5 Track and Field State Championships in the 3200m my sophomore year. Each race has taught me something new.
