Hi, my name is Isabel Ferguson and I am currently a junior at Tinora High School located in Defiance Ohio. I first joined the track team in 7th grade and decided to try out high jump because it looked fun. I immediately fell in love with the sport. Soaring over the bar and reaching new heights I didn't think I could are two of my favorite feelings. My high school is very small so we aren't able to just compete in one event. In almost every meet, I compete in four events that range in distance from the 400m to the 3200m. But out of all the events high jump and the 800m are my favorites and where I feel I have the most potential. I think my ability to run such a wide range of events is a valuable ability to have along with my academics. I have been a straight A student and been taking available honors classes my whole life and hold my studies high in my list of priorities. I have also taken College Credit Plus classes at my local community college to get a feel of what college classes are like and to get ahead on credits. With two remaining years to compete in high school, my main goal is to put in the work and improve my PR's by as much as possible. Last track season I suffered from an ankle injury mid-season and decided to tough it out until State. However, due to this I know I wasn't competing at my full potential and have a lot of room to improve. This season I aspire to be the best high jumper and runner I can be and push the limits of what I thought was possible for myself. In college, I hope to carry over my determination and continue improving to be the best athlete I can be.
