Personal Statement

My collegiate goals and aspirations include attending a competitive university that will challenge me academically and help me grow and mature as a young adult. I am looking forward to furthering my education and continuing to challenge myself in the classroom in hopes of attending medical school in the future. I would like to become a part of a track and field team that focuses on teamwork, discipline and achieving individual and team goals. As a freshman, I would love to contribute to my team having a winning season and competing in the 2022 NCAA Track and Field Championships. I am determined to put in the hard work and dedication it takes to become a top tier track and field athlete and I am looking for a program and coach that will continue to expect the best out of me.

I am a GREAT candidate for any team because my favorite quote is “hard work beats talent”. Keeping this in mind has helped motivate me throughout my academic and athletic career. It has taught me that even on my toughest days, I should never give up because there is someone else out there practicing, working hard and waiting for the opportunity to challenge me. Because of that, it is my responsibility to be prepared and to put in the hard work it takes to succeed and be a winner!

I am different from other recruits when it comes to character because I understand the importance of discipline and consistency. My parents are former athletes and have taught me that consistency turns into progress. I also enjoy seeing my teammates reach their goals just as much as I do my own. I am different when it comes to athletics because I understand the importance of doing what needs to be done on a consistent basis in order to contribute to my team. That means creating and following good habits during practice that will help me get better as an athlete.

Finally, I am unique when it comes to academics because I am highly motivated and take pride in working hard to create the best opportunities I can for my future. I believe that academics are very important and the work ethic that I have developed over the years will be a key component of my success as a student and as an athlete during my collegiate years and beyond.
