Cross Country:
I started running whenever I was in 8th grade. This was totally a new experience for me, and I wasn't for sure what I was going to get myself into. I was definitely nervous of how my performance would be since it was my first time and never trained for this sport. My first meet was 1.5 miles long and I got 15th place out of 100 girls with a time of 11:20. I was super surprised I done this good for my first time, so I was super excited for my 8th grade Season. Later on, throughout the season, I stayed in the top 30 except for one race, so I had a very successful season. I got 7th in Sectionals and 15th in the State, so I knew that running was probably definitely going to be my sport in the future.
I have had many accomplishments in high school as well. My Freshman Year, I got 19th in Conference and 26th for Regionals. For my Sophomore Year I All-Conference (3rd), All-Region(4th), and 27th for State and made a state appearance with my team. This year, Junior Year, I got All-Conference (2nd), All-Region (3rd), and All-State (9th) and made a state appearance again with my team. I also broke the 1985-86 High School 5k record (20:03) for Volunteer with a time of 19:42.
