I am currently a junior at Cienega High School and maintain a 4.474 GPA. I am a member of the National Honor Society and Link Crew which is a mentoring program developed at my school to assist incoming freshman students in their transition into high school. Since age 5, my life has revolved around sports. I was blessed to play pretty much every sport and decided to focus on soccer, which I played at the club level for approximately eight years. During my transition to middle school, I joined a volleyball team through a youth sports organization. This was a huge eye opener as I went from being one of the star players in soccer to struggling to serve a ball over the net or pass a ball in volleyball. I quickly learned that perseverance, hard work, and dedication pays off, as I became one of the few who could serve a ball over hand and my passing improved. As I continued to play volleyball throughout middle school and eventually join a club volleyball team, I realized that my passion for volleyball far exceeded my passion for soccer and I made the decision to focus my attention on improving my volleyball skills. Throughout the four years that I have played club volleyball, I have gained insight that I will carry with me in life. I have learned that there are times when we cannot accomplish things on our own and that teamwork is a critical aspect of success. I have learned to never give up and always strive to be the best I can be not only for myself but for my teammates. Volleyball has also taught me to recognize my mistakes and work to correct those mistakes in the next play. I am a well-rounded volleyball player being able to play most positions on the court. Whether I am at practice or in a match I always give 110% and maintain a positive attitude. Even during off-season, I am working to improve my volleyball skills. Being a student-athlete has taught me about time management, staying organized, and the importance of discipline. My goal is to play at the highest collegiate level possible while furthering my education to pursue a career in sports medicine or physical therapy. I am interested in a college with a competitive volleyball team that is looking for a strong, aggressive, ambitious, and versatile team member who will make an in impact while helping the team achieve their goals.
