Personal Statement

I believe I am a great asset base on the qualities I have developed as an student-athelete, God fearing individual through my trials and tribulations in my short 18 years.  I was offered the amazing opportunity to be my team co-captain as a Junior, and now I lead my team as the Captain.

I have been involved in competitive contact sports since the age of 4 years old.  I first started with Kung-fu; however when I was 10 years old my Master Hasting Albo passed away in a tragic car accident.  This devastated me, but one of his many teachings was to "dust yourself off and continue moving forward".  All the pain, anger, and frustration I felt after loosing my teacher and mentor, I converted into hunger and desire to become a better student, and wrestler.  I had already started strength training with my father by this time.  We continued to focus on every muscle that is involve in counter moves in order to obtain maximum result in matches.  I went on to pick up agility training though a close family friend of ours, which now owns his own Crossfit gym, Push.  I have continue religiously training with my wrestling coach, my father and my agility coach in order to become better with every match.

Unfortunately, last year during the beginning of my junior year I had a set back due to an injury.  I went though surgery and the best rehab, since my father is a Doctor of Chiropractic.  I had to face the "monster of defeat, anger and frustration" once again.  We had already met, as I mentioned when I was 10 years; however, this time my faith was also tested.  Under my father's watch and with all the knowledge and passion, he nurture and guide me back to being a better, faster and stronger wrestler than I was prior to injury.   Here I am, ready to take on the next chapter of my life, anxiously waiting to see how I can better the next team that God intends me to be a part of.  Through all these challenges I have learned that through faith, hard work, commitment and dedication anything can be conquer.

Consequently, I discovered that I would want to help others just like the doctors helped me.  I would one day would like to become an orthopedic surgeon, and be able to offer hope to people just like hope was offered to me.

I too would like to thank those that have reviewed this profile.  Thank You
