Personal Statement

My goal is to get a college education and play in the MLB.  I am a great candidate for any team because I give 100% on and off the field, even in practice, I want to work hard and be an inspiration to others so that the whole team can feed off of my energy and become fighters.  I never give up no matter what the score is, and I love just being out on the field.  School is a work in progress, I have been handed many obstacles, surgery, moving to another state, and although its taken its toll on my grades, I am applying the same effort in my studies that I do on the field in order to achieve my goals.

  • *** Top Prospect Team ***Theodore Benda is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 6-1 193 lb. frame from Auburn, AL who attends Auburn HS. Recorded a 7.28 second 60-yard dash time. Strong and physical frame with a well-proportioned build including strength through the lower half. Primary righthanded pitcher who threw exclusively from the stretch. Short and tight arm action and threw from a three quarter arm slot. Used a drop and drive mechanic to get push off the lower half. Leg lift high above the belt and throws with some effort. Fastball up to 86 mph and showed short, diving life when low int he zone. Mixed in a breaking ball with 12/6 shape that he could cut across to create more slider-like break. Arm strength creates the most effective velocity and could improve by suring up the lower half. Secondary outfielder with a quick release and arm strength up to 84 mph. Good accuracy across and throws from a lower arm slot. Righthanded hitter with a spread open stance. Pulls the ball well with good intent. Has good raw power that plays well through the swing. Shifts lower half well through contact and is looking to elevate the ball from an uphill swing plane.

  • RHP 6-1 185 R/R Theodore Benda is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Jupiter, FL who attends Oxbridge Academy. Large, athletic frame with long limbs and a strong lower half with present strength throughout build. Primary righthanded pitcher, works exclusively out of the stretch, gathers well at balance point, will occasionally rush towards the plate but gains good momentum and finishes on line with good direction towards the plate. Throws from a three-quarters arm slot and does a nice job of incorporating the lower half and clearing the hips. Good plane to fastball down in the zone, topped out at 89 mph with excellent life and gets on hitters quickly, not afraid to challenge in either. Arm slot slightly lower on curveball but shows sharp 10-4 shape with tight rotation and late break. Changeup feel will continue to develop but did shows good fading life. Mixes well and attacks hitters, works ahead in count. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and generates nice bat speed with whip to the barrel. Some effort to swing but can impact the ball with solid carry to pull side. Named to Main Event Top Prospect List, and Top Prospect Team.
