Throughout my life, I have participated in many sports such as soccer, skiing, competitive swimming and Tae Kwon Do. But baseball became my passion and became my primary sport at age 12. I started baseball at six years old with T-ball and have continued ever since. I enjoy the challenge in making myself a better ball player and striving for the highest level of play at the same time having balance with my education. I have committed myself during our long Canadian winters to indoor training working with batting, pitching, fielding skills and getting stronger with conditioning training. The greatest baseball experience I've had so far was playing on the U16 Team Canada that went to the Dominican Republic for the Latin America Baseball Classic this summer (2015). I couldn't have asked for a greater experience than playing teams from the Dominican and the USA.
My expectation has always been to go to university or college with the goal to also play baseball . I will initially be pursuing general studies in sciences and/or business & economics. I will decide on a graduate degree once I have a few more years of life experience. I am fluent in French since my first 8 years of school were in French immersion. I also have a basic knowledge of Spanish. Spanish has been useful on my trips to Mexico and the Dominican Republic. I started in grade 8 at Rundle College in Calgary, which is a university prep school. The transfer to an English school was to better prepare me for university. I have achieved academic honours in 2013 and 2014. Playing with Babe Ruth Baseball Calgary has allowed me to play in a regular league locally, balance my studies and enabled me to play on high performance travel teams and travel teams with a higher level of competition that have developed my baseball and interpersonal skills.
When I am not occupied with my studies and baseball, I work part-time as an usher for the Calgary Flames at the Scotiabank Saddledome during hockey games and concerts.
