Hello, my name is Anthony Calise and I am a 6’ 200lb power hitting corner infielder and can also play the corner outfield. I’ve had varsity experience in all 4 positions. I’ve been a baseball player all my life as well as a basketball player. I also played a little football in 5th grade to 8th grade but in my freshman year of high school I choose to only play baseball and make it my passion. I played the usual tee-ball and coach pitch up to 5 years old and I always played in the age group above me in kid-pitch when I turned 6, until high school. In 2008, at the age 11, playing with an 11u all-star team, we went to Bakersfield California and were one game short on playing in the Cal Ripken World Series. Then in 2009 until high school, I played on competitive club ball teams and was a top performer. Freshman year I got 9 games experience on the varsity level. Sophomore year I had more varsity level experience and had a very great J.V. year leading the team in almost every stat. This past Junior year I played all season on the varsity level and I led the team in OPS and on base percentage, then came third in batting average. My commitment and dedication to baseball is unbelievable. I work harder than I can 100% of the time. I give it my all and never back down as I take pride in everything I do as an athlete. I come from an athletic family and have learned to not disappoint a coach or anyone. If I disappoint someone, I also disappoint myself, that fires me to work even harder so it will never happen again. I am tough on myself and will never let anything down. Academically I am above average student with a gpa of 2.7 out of 4. My most important academic goal for senior year is to reach a 3.0 or higher gpa. My #1 athletic/personal goal is to lead my team to a state championship and be a better player and person all around. Thank you for your time and I hope you like who I am as an athlete.
