My objective after high school is to play baseball at university while working towards and achieving my degree.
It is important to me to have a well-rounded university experience and I really want to be a key contributor to help my team win games and championships.
I am very focused and at the end of my university graduation, I will have accomplished these goals:
• 100% effort and commitment in helping my baseball team achieve goals and have winning seasons
• 100% effort and commitment in practice, training and playing
• 100% effort and commitment in achieving good grades in my academics
• Being a fierce competitor and being a committed teammate on and off the baseball field
Although my primary position is a RH pitcher, my athletic abilities allow me to compete in the catcher and outfield positions and also as a league-leading hitter.
As a pitcher I am very competitive and composed on the mound and really enjoy the one-on-one duel between a hitter and a pitcher. I like the strategic parts of pitching and it gives me great satisfaction to get K’s and outs against hitters to directly help my team win. My experience as a catcher has helped me understand the special relationship between the pitcher/catcher and where good location/velocity change helps me succeed as a pitcher.
As a multi-sport athlete, I also played A1 Rep ice hockey in winter as an assistant captain while training and playing baseball which has definitely given me more advantages and tools to succeed in baseball.
I would describe myself as very coachable player because I take instruction well and can make adjustments quickly. I can remember last season when I was on the verge of a complete game shut out and got into trouble in the final 7th inning and the coach visited the mound. He asked me to make a change in mechanics and was able to adapt and finish the game with a 1 hit CGSO. As a teammate I am a player that learns by observation and leads by example.
My goal is to have a 3.8 GPA or higher when I graduate high school. I have taken all my school courses under the French immersion program from K to present, allowing me to now be fluent in French. I feel that having this type of grade and language ability will definitely help me get into colleges or universities I wish to attend.
I am extremely excited to soon begin the next phase of my baseball career at university!
