Tate Spence '24 Recruiting Profile

I first started playing baseball when I was 5-6 years old. Since I started playing, I always knew that I would want to play at a college or university level. I pride myself on getting 1% better each day, and I mentally try to put my best foot forward each and every day as well.  

I've always been a pitcher in my baseball career to this point as I've always had a strong arm with good control of the strike zone.  I'm a consistent and confident pitcher who has good movement and control on all my pitches. I have a fastball with good arm-side run, a change-up that tunnels well of my fastball, and a sweeping slider with sharp, late break.  I can throw all pitches for strikes, and am working towards being fully confident in throwing any pitch in any count. I also pride myself in being a kind, inclusive teammate who pushes his peers to be the best players they can be. 

I strive to be a good student and excel in all my classes. I regularly take classes that will challenge me and improve my knowledge in that subject. I am currently in French Immersion and am working towards graduating with a Dual Dogwood (British Columbia certificate of graduation as well as a Diplôme de fin d'études secondaires en Columbie-Britannique) which will also mean I'll be bilingual in English and French. I'm an "A" average student who makes the honor roll as well as the effort list meaning I try my best in all my classes. 

I would like to play college baseball somewhere that will help me continue to develop on the field as well as in the classroom.  My goal is to play at the highest level of competition possible for my abilities. I would like to go somewhere that will have good team chemistry and will help me not only grow as a baseball player and student, but as well as a young man and member of a team.
