Hello, I am Carlos Ramirez and I am a LHP. My goal is to get an engineering degree, either civil or mechanical, and play baseball. I aspire to play baseball in college and eventually in the major leagues, but knowing how hard it is to make it there, I know I need a solid education as well. I have a great attitude and I am a team player. I received the coaches award for JV at the end of last season for my leadership, willingness to work, encouraging my teammates and always giving it my all. There is only one player given this honor per level. I also earned an academic athlete award which shows that my academics are important to me. I have played JV the last 3 years, and was on the reserve for Varsity the last two years. I believe that having stayed in JV has been a great opportunity for me since I was able to have a lot of playing time. I was starting pitcher for one of the two games a week that we played during preseason and regular season. During the second game I was usually starting 1st baseman. Had I been on Varsity I would not have seen as much playing time. But now I look forward to my senior year season as a Varsity player and I am ready to that I deserve my spot.
