Personal Statement

I am Isaiah Ray Landry, when I was 9 years old, my All-Star Pony Baseball Team and American Youth Football Team won regional and state championships to advance to the Pony Mustang World Series, and the National Youth Football (NYF) Championship.  Although we did not win the competitions, my teams competed at a high enough level to be recognized and awarded trophies and medals.  While I did not like taking 4th and 7th place nationally, my father pointed out how fortunate I was at my age, to compete in two different sports, during the same year, at the highest level. He talked about how rare it is for any athlete to accomplish. I believe 2014 was the year that put me on an academic and athletic track that separates me from many of my classman. I have what my father calls "The Spirit of a Champion."

Since the age of 9, I  have been preparing myself  academically and athletically, to compete at the highest level, and challenge my teammates to do the same.  In 2021, I used my abilities as a sophomore on our varsity baseball team, in which I practiced before practice, during practice, after practice and before games.  Witnessing how it was paying off, many of my teammates begin to do the same thing. Our team won the league, many of my teammates skills improved, I had one of the best seasons ever.  The same type of experience occurred as I played with various travel ball teams.  The clubs started winning tournaments, the players got better and I had fun hitting, running, scoring and defending leads. Every team I have ever played on got better!

I am using my  gift to prepare myself and help others become the best version of themselves as student athletes. My teammates love playing with me, my coaches like training me. I Hope to bring my efforts to your team! Beyond playing between the lines, I expect to continue  supporting the next generation of student athletes as a recruiter, scout, coach, athletic director,  athletic counselor, business agent, Chaplin, or sports broadcaster.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
