As long as I can remember, the ideals of effort and accountability have stuck with me, both on and off the field and in the classroom. Playing in the Sunset League against top schools such as Huntington Beach has really put those into perspective. The experience with high-pressure situations in competitive games really helped me grow as a person, and pushed me to develop myself into a solid outfielder capable of succeeding at the collegiate level.
I first started playing baseball at four years old. I played Little League baseball until I was twelve, and began playing travel baseball that same year. I always enjoyed baseball, but didn't start taking it seriously until I started playing travel baseball. In the years since, I've learned that it doesn't take being the biggest or strongest player on the field to succeed. My best tools are my athleticism, contact, speed, manufacturing runs, and getting on base.
In addition to playing baseball at the collegiate level, I take pride in being a student-athlete and doing well in the classroom. My goals in the classroom are to enjoy learning while challenging my mind, and maintaining a 3.5 GPA or above. I am interested in pursuing a career in sports medicine to learn how to best take care of my body, and also help others do so. The hardest challenge for me so far with schooling are the effects the pandemic has brought into my daily life. Learning online is a great challenge, and it requires a lot of patience and accountability. This year has been tough, but I've learned that no matter the circumstance, I can still succeed if I work hard to reach my goals.
