Hello, my name is Brian Alvarado. Currently a Senior(C/O 2012) at Rancho Alamitos High School in Southern California, I plan on competing in baseball after high school at the highest level. Baseball is my main sport, I have been playing since the age of 5, beginning in Little League. I entered travel/club baseball at the age of 12 with the Huntington Beach Nitro Baseball Club. At the age of 14, I joined the So Cal Birds, a 14u major team, into my Freshman year, where thereafter, I played for Anderson Baseball. The summer after my sophomore year, I played with Hustle Baseball in the 18u division. The summer after my Junior year, I played for Team Anderson/Hard 9 Academy, and I played scout ball for the Seattle Mariners this past fall, where I have just recently converted into a catcher. I stand at 5'10", weigh 175 lbs, and I enter my Senior season as a 4th year Varsity player, starting at catcher (recently converted from an infielder), while playing 3rd base and pitching when needed. As a Freshman, I split time on J.V. and Varsity, becoming the M.V.P. on J.V. and competed for playing time on Varsity. As a Sophomore, I entered the season on Varsity as a back up infielder, and slowly earned my way into the starting line-up at 3rd base, also making 2nd Team All-League in the Garden Grove League with a .441 average. My Junior year, I once again made 2nd Team All-League, hitting .422, while racking up 35 hits (2nd most in the league, behind the league M.V.P). I also led the team in stolen bases, and knocked in 16 RBI's and scoring 17 runs. I am willing to give 110% at all times, work hard to earn my place on a team. I set my goals high in my academics and expect to maintain a 3.0 G.P.A. or higher. I took my second SAT in November of 2011, and scored 1510. I always represent myself and my program in a proper manner, whether it is on the field or off of it. I understand the repetition and labor it takes to compete at the highest level, and I am committed to my work. I would prefer to play in a school on the West coast, near my family or , with a high quality baseball program and with a top of the line education program. I hope you desire to learn more about myself and choose me to play for your program.
