Hello my name is Steven De La Cruz I live in Merced California and am currently going to Merced High School. I've been playing baseball since i was 4 1/2. I have developed a strong love for the game. Since I was a kid, my dad, uncle and grandpa have been major influences on me, from playing catch in the backyard to learning new drills . Throughout the years I have had great coaches and teammates who I respect and they have all helped me develop my respect for the game. Baseball has taught me many things, but the most important lesson it has taught me is how to deal with failure. Baseball is a game of failure and if something does not go your way on the field, you have to shake it off, work harder, and be ready for the next opportunity
In the start of high school i wasn't doing so well i almost failed freshman year which came with a consequence i didn't get to playball that year. I changed all that going into sophomore year. I studied hard in the classroom and recently finished the year with a 3.5 GPA. My goal is to graduate high school getting a 4.0 GPA. I will achieve this by continuing to work hard in the classroom and on the field. My ultimate goal is to reach the collegiate level to study Mechanics and Repairs and to continue playing the game that I love.
