My collegiate goal is to obtain a post graduate degree most likely with a business background and I aspire to play baseball at a high level all though college. I would love the opportunity to continue playing baseball as my career, but understand the hard work and dedication plus a little luck it takes. The challenge doesn't discourage me, I do work very hard to be my personal best and understand how competition can make me a better person and athlete. I grew up in a household with 5 other siblings very close in age. The competition is a constant in our house and I learned very early that it takes everyone working together as a team to make our family run smoothly, just like on the baseball field.
My character has always been an important thing for me to lead by a good example. I often think of my old elementary school's saying of "HOWL" as we were the Newport Coast Elementary Coyotes. This was ingrained in my mind everyday to be a Honorable, Organized, Wise, Leader. I have strived to be honorable and treat others kindly and look people in the eye when talking. I have learned from my family how organization is a big part of success, which has helped me with my academics. I feel I was born with a wise mind and this helps me with my schoolwork. I see myself as a leader on and off the baseball field. I think it is great to be a leader, but even harder to BE a great leader.
These are a few of my reasons I am unique and different from other recruits. My character, athletics, and academics are all very important to me and not one is higher than the other; it is a balance!
