Anthony Clerici '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Anthony Clerici.  I am currently a junior at Bishop O’Dowd High school in Oakland. I would define myself as a son, a brother to two exuberant yellow labs, a cousin and a loyal friend. I have many interests, most of which involve working with my hands, but my passion is and has always been baseball. Some of the best memories I have from my first years of baseball take place at 6 in the morning on a Saturday as I wake up and go with my dad to the field.  I entertain myself as he lines and preps the field, and masterfully grooms the grass. Then, we transition into a simulated game as I imitate each Giants’ batter’s stance while my dad throws to me. We go through the lineup twice before my teammates arrive and immediately join in. In addition to baseball, I played soccer for six years, and basketball for eight years, and I continue to play pickup games with my friends almost every weekend. During summer and on non-baseball weekends I enjoy hobbies such as building computers, driving and rebuilding RC cars with friends and designing objects to 3D print. I also enjoy golf, pickup basketball, ultimate frisbee, and hiking.  One of my favorite things to do is just hang out outside in the hammock or with my dogs.  My academic interests include Computer Science, Robotics and possibly Engineering, however I also enjoy Creative Writing in the comedic style and have an interest in Psychology. My academics have always been very important to me and I understand that in order to be considered for the universities I am interested in attending I need to be at my best, which I am striving for every day.
