My interest in baseball began when I was 7 years old, and I have had incredible experiences playing in my local rec league and several club teams over the years. With the intense practice and coaching I have received throughout my baseball career, and my true love of the game, I have continually improved my skills. Additionally, ever since I stepped foot on my high school campus I have wanted to become the best player I can possibly be at my position, which has driven me to compete even harder.
My personality fits naturally with being a catcher since I have a strong work ethic, strive to be thoroughly prepared, knowledgeable and focused for every game, mesh easily with my teammates, and always seek to learn from my experiences. I understand the key dynamics of successful teams where everyone must contribute 100%, communicate openly, and work to improve together. I also understand the unique value of being a catcher who leads by example through tireless effort and sacrificing their body on every pitch. The same qualities I have developed to help me become a better catcher have helped me become a better student and person overall.
Baseball also plays a large role in my life outside of high school where I coach youth baseball and run private catching clinics. Coaching has benefited me by reinforcing aspects of the game that I myself can improve upon and demonstrates my will to make others around me successful.
My goal is to attend a highly academic school so that I can continue to pursue my strong interest in learning while also making a significant contribution to a competitive college baseball team. Just as baseball has provided a model that I have successfully used in academics and social skills, I’m certain that I can leverage these same skills into a professional business career.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
