My name is Camden Kraus and my goal is to play collegiate baseball at a university or college with strong academics. My top priorities are achieving excellent grades, being a contributing member of a baseball team, developing friends in the program, as well as increasing my fitness and skill level on and off the field. Additionally, I plan to serve and help others in the community and the school.
I am aware that playing on a baseball team at the college level means being accountable, able to stay fit and healthy, as well as keeping up with academics, and being a coachable player. I am always eager to learn and strive to perform at the highest level. Over the years I have attained many skills from playing the game of baseball. I have speed and good cardio fitness with great range on the field and accurate throws across the diamond and from the outfield. I come mentally prepared to play, helping give my teams the best possible chances of winning. I am a contact hitter, with few strikeouts, and I frustrate the opposing team's pitchers with my consistent battles while hitting. Frustrating pitchers doesn’t stop at the plate, it continues with my base running. I would describe myself as well-rounded, physically fit, balanced, polite, and someone who is always willing to help others. In addition to this, I am also someone who listens to people and their perspectives to better understand their beliefs and views.
My character is something that I value highly. I am aware that my actions and words influence what others think and say about me and reflect on those I associate with. Coming from a Christian household, I have always been held to high morals and standards by my parents and church leaders. I understand that the activities people participate in and the words they speak can affect the reputation of a school and its program. I commit to being a good representation of my team, my school, my faith, and my country.
As a student-athlete, academics come first for me. I am an honors student, participating in both Honors and AP classes. I am a good communicator both orally and in writing. Multiple times I have been recognized as the student of the month in my class. Physically, I am lean and quick with excellent hand-eye coordination. I have fast reflexes and superior range and stamina due to participation in sports other than baseball (football, soccer, surfing).
I consider myself a well-rounded balance of fitness, academics, and sociability. I enjoy sports for the friendships created in addition to the competition. Sports are not my only priority in life and I seek a school that will help me develop into a productive member of society in addition to competing on the field. I am excited to start the journey after high school into collegiate sports.
