My name’s Kyle Scritzky, and I am a 2-slot left-handed pitcher at Archbishop Mitty High School. My goal is to play baseball at the next level while also focusing on academics. I want to major in entrepreneurship, economy, or environmental sciences.
I throw from 2 arm slots: low ¾’s and sidearm. I’m consistently throwing fastballs and changeups from both slots, both of which carry a good amount of movement. I also have a slurve from the ¾ slot. In addition to being 6’3”, I have a 6'5" wingspan which goes well with my lankier build, allowing me to utilize my arm’s whip to its full potential resulting in more run on my pitches. On the Archbishop Mitty Varsity team as a junior, I played a relief/closer role, while striking out 27 over 22.1 innings. Over the course of the season, my command improved and my goal is to also start this summer. I am proud our team for winning the CA State NorCal DII Championship this June. I pitched 6 shut-out innings in the State Semi-Final Game (which can be seen in my highlight video). Additionally, our team came in 2nd (out of 16) in The Boras Classic Tournament. Thus far this summer my ERA is 1.78 over 15.2 innings while striking out 23.
Academically, I’m sitting at a 4.1 GPA. I enjoy environmental science. I’m also interested in starting a small business, and that’s where business/entrepreneurship and economics come into play.
Outside of baseball and academics, I’m an avid skier, mountain biker and archer. I enjoy all of them, but one reason they share is that they get me outdoors.
In general, I’m looking for schools along the west coast with solid academics as well as a competitive baseball team so I can push myself to play at the highest level.
