My name is Isaiah Maxie. I am a 6'2” 225 lbs. First Baseman, Catcher, and Right-Handed Pitcher. This year I was a starter for my Varsity team and earned All Conference Honorable Mention. As a Freshman & Sophomore I was a starter on the Junior Varsity team, and served as Team Captain both seasons. During my sophmore year I was selected Team MVP by my teammates. I am also part of the Varsity Football team where I play offensive & defensive line. Previously, I also played two years of Freshman & JV Basketball.
I have been a three sport athlete since I was 5 years old. Being exposed to such a competitive environment has helped me to mature and excel as an athlete on the field. However, I am more than just an athlete. In school I have also found success. Currently I rank among the top 10 in my class with a 4.0 GPA in honors/AP courses. I have also been a member of the jazz band, and played trumpet for 6 years.
Outside of school, I am a positive contributing member of my community. I strive to consistently give back by volunteering as an umpire for my local Little League, and helping to provide food during local church events.
One of the major impacts in my life has come from achieving a first-degree black belt in martial arts. My experience in karate has made me more self aware, and helped me channel my emotions during stressful situations. I understand the concepts of focus, repetition, & persistence needed to work towards mastery of any craft.
I take pride in saying that my parents are the reason I have achieved such large goals. My parents have faced many obstacles. They've shown me the true meaning of commitment, perseverance, and sacrifice in all aspects of my life. My parents have both been huge supporters and taught me that I can achieve anything by having a growth mindset, positive life outlook, embracing adversity, and putting in the intentional effort every day to become a better individual on & off the field.
My short-term goals are to maintain over a 4.0 GPA, earn a college scholarship, continue to develop my skill sets as an athlete, grow as a person, and remain humble as I achieve future life milestones.
