Why baseball? Why do I work hard every day and give up so much to be the best I can be? The answer is simple; the moment I feel the dirt under my cleats only the game matters. For years I have worked hard to get to the point I am at right now. Fortunate to be 6’2 and 210lbs, I recognize I have natural power. But this does not stop me from working hard to become a better player every day. For me, baseball is more than a game, it is my way to escape and have fun while working hard and playing the sport that I love.
From a young age, I have always been a leader on my team whether I am 4 - 4 with 2 doubles or 0 - 4 with 4 strikeouts. I am the loudest voice you hear. I can be playing the entire game hitting 3rd or sitting on the bench but I always have the same goal, to do whatever I can to support my teammates and help my team win. As a catcher, I am involved in every pitch and I use this advantage to help my team. With every play I am moving my teammates around, directing throws and calming the nerves of my pitcher.
Ever since I was 4 years old playing tee-ball, I have had the dream of playing at the next level. My goal now is to represent my college on the baseball field. I am willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish this. I am looking for a coaching staff which will push me to be the best player, teammate, student and person I can be. I want a school that will give me opportunities to showcase what I can do on the field, in the classroom, and in my community.
