November 2016Personal Statement
I’ve always been told by coaches and teammates that i’m a great leader and a supportive teammate. I have always pushed myself and my teammates to do their best and try to get better. I show up to practices ready to learn, and games ready to win. If any of my teachers were asked what my greatest strength in the classroom is, they would mention how well i get along with others, and how easily I work with people to get the assignment done. My communication skills have been something that has helped me on and off the field.
I maybe owe my ability to get along and lead to some unusual experiences I’ve had. I have travelled quite a bit, and spent a week volunteering at a school in Tanzania where all the kids parents had died of AIDS. I think this experience helped me understand people better.
When i’m not on the diamond i’m usually studying, listening to music, drawing, or training in the gym. Training hard has been a major key to my success on the diamond, and I will continue to train hard so that i’m in the best shape of my life in time for college. Academically, I like English and history. I am very interested in studying art, and am in AP art this year.
I play golf, basketball, and sometimes tennis and football, but I have never loved any sport like I do baseball. I have always loved pitching. I love the mental and physical challenge aspect of pitching. I look forward to my future as a student athlete at a college that is right for me.
