Personal Statement

I am beginning my sophomore season at Chandler-Gilbert Community College and starting this fall season coming off a great summer of training and work-outs. I pitched in a few games for a collegiate travel team, the Cut Thoats with success and a chance to continue to work on command and control while adding velocity at Throwformance training facility. My Goal this year academically is to secure a 3.0+ GPA while achieving my baseball objectives of 96 mph before the Spring season at CGCC and put me in a position to be an All-ACCAC pitcher heading into the DII College World Series in June 2024.

From little league to club travel ball and high school baseball, there have been many good coaches, friends, and family who have supported me on this journey and dream to pitch professionally and I continue to work hard towards those ends. Catamount Baseball exists to elevate and promote the game of baseball in Colorado Springs by providing the opportunity for competitive, high level players to play for a local organization characterized by player development, quality coaching/instruction, integrity, honesty, and character.

As a member of the 2022 Gold team last summer, your son played at a high level and is being offered a slot prior to the tryouts for the rest of the players. We will offer only one team for the 2022 age group and plan to play in tournaments starting in mid-June (after the conclusion of the high school baseball season) and end in the early part of August. We plan to play a combination of in state events and out of state events within driving distance (we are considering events in Kansas City, Omaha, Albuquerque, Salt Lake City, etc) and plan to play 6-7 tournaments plus some individual games.

Selections are made based off feedback from college coaches & scouts in attendance along with player's statistical performance throughout the tournament. PRESEASON ALL STATE GAMES STANDOUT 2022 PITCHERS 2022, Jonah Johnson, RHP, Discovery Canyon Rising 2022...Jonah keeps climbing development ladder. Another good showing in the event. FB up to 85 with range 82-85. Uses lower half well with coil and dip/drive delivery. Has some ASR. OT release. CB 69-70 Good CH at 76-79. 6-2/175 room for strength and growth. 02/15/2021 - All-In Membership - Parker (Denver), CO Jonah is an athletic RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 84-86 mph on a downhill plane. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with downward break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a plus feel for pitch with sinking action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Jonah has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Great glove side leverage anf pull Arm has short arc on the back side with extensiion and follow through FB Maxed at 82 79-82 Range SL 64 and CH 72 Stayed in zone with all pitched and tries to work both sides ot plate Good arm speed on CH SL is still developing
