Personal Statement

I have been dedicated to baseball my entire life. When I was 3 years old I would wake up at 4 am to practice tee ball. I have very big goals in baseball. #1 Play collegiate baseball at a school where I can contribute to the team, #2 To play as long as possible and to do so at a high level, #3 To make a career out of any aspect of the game, #4 To get good grades. Academics are a major part of the journey and are just as important as baseball.

My favorite feeling in baseball is “leaving it all out there”. My most memorable game was the Colorado State Championship - I had 6 RBIs, hit a three-run home run, and pitched a shutout from the mound only giving up two hits. The best tournament I have played in was the Triple Crown World Series in July of 2024. In 5 games, I hit 10/15, stole 5 bases, and got a W on the bump. In both of those situations, I gave it my all.

Baseball is the greatest game ever created, and I love every part of it. It parallels life through the ups and downs and imperfections. Diving for fly balls in the grass, scooping balls in the dirt, and catching a barrel at the plate. Cheering from the dugout, hitting drills in my backyard, and helping out my coaches with equipment at practice.

I am a coachable athlete, I am a great teammate, and I am competitive. I have a positive attitude, I am a leader on my teams and have always gotten along well with coaches and teammates. I cannot wait to play collegiate baseball.

  • Baseball Factory West Coast Holiday Classic (HS) "Elijah is a versatile outfielder and left-handed pitcher from Edwards, Colorado, who showcased his skills at the Baseball Factory West Coast Holiday Camp. Defensively, Elijah demonstrates good lateral range and works well behind the ball, getting good first-step reads off the bat. He has a loose arm stroke, making accurate throws into the infield, though a long toss and weight training program will help further improve his arm strength. At the plate, Elijah starts with a tall, even stance and high hands, staying centered at contact to make consistent hits. During live game action, he recorded three singles, a walk, was hit by a pitch, drove in an RBI, and added a stolen base, showing his ability to contribute in multiple ways offensively. On the mound, Elijah starts square to his target, takes the proper stride length, and fields his position well. In three innings of work, he struck out four batters and did not allow a hit, showcasing his control and poise on the mound. With continued growth and development, Elijah's all-around game will continue to improve, and he has a bright future ahead both as a pitcher and position player."
