I have been playing baseball for as long as I can remember, and work hard each and every day to reach my full potential and carry this talent to the collegiate level. I love everything about the game, and I understand what it takes to succeed at higher levels. This includes both the mental and physical aspects, and I value them equally as much. I am very dedicated to the game of baseball, constantly pushing myself and striving to be the best both on and off the field, from training hard in the gym to consistently being on the field working on mechanics and fundamentals. And when this results in me being successful during games, it only pushes me harder to keep grinding. I am eager to continue this process to collegiate levels of baseball, and cannot wait for this future opportunity.
I believe I would be a major asset to any collegiate program, as an athlete, a student, and an overall person. As an athlete, I bring a variety of skills and talents. First of all, I am a great contact hitter, and almost never swing through a pitch. I very rarely strikeout because of this, usually only a few times a season. On these rare occasions, I take advantage of it and use it as a learning experience, even if it means I need to make an extreme adjustment my next at-bat due to the umpire's strike zone. I am always putting the ball in play because of this, forcing the fielders to make plays. I consistently hit for high average, and tend to strive against pitchers of higher competition. I am consistently looking to get on base and to be productive, and play a crucial role in the top of the lineup each and every game. Next, I play a key role in the middle infield. I work to perfect my mechanics and it pays off in the games. I very rarely make errors, and am consistently smooth through the ball, displaying both soft and quick hands, with a strong backhand and forehand as well. Also, I am constantly charging the ball, and my throws are always right on target, and makes for minimum effort for the first baseman. However, I do understand that academics is equally as important as athletics, and have taken and will continue to take academics seriously. I have received High Honors (all 90's and above) every year in school throughout my entire middle school career and so far my high school career as well. Therefore, I would be a huge asset to a collegiate program academically. And perhaps most importantly, I am a great character. I am always the first one to practice and games, helping out my coaches with equipment and preparing for necessary drills, setting up the batting cage, etc. I am always super polite to my coaches, and they often use me as a role model for drills during practice. I make sure to thank them after every game, no matter the quality of my performance that day. In addition, I am also extremely coachable, and immediately listen to my coaches and/or instructors when receiving advice.
I am extremely eager to play baseball at the collegiate level. I would prefer to attend a college on the east coast of the United States, however, I am open to other locations in the United States as well.
