My name is Jason Marino. I am 13 years old and in 8th grade. I am 4 feet and 11 inches tall and weigh 95 lbs. What I lack in height I make up for with my speed and agility on the baseball field. I am a left handed person but I pitch with my right arm. I play shortstop and pitcher. While playing shortstop is my passion, I love pitching. I played Little League for five years. This past season my team won the Championships. It was 5 to 3 in the bottom of the 6th. My team was up. I closed the game and pitched a shut out. I also play on the Amity Middle School baseball team. I currently play for The Grind, a baseball travel team in my town. I love sports and also enjoy and excel at basketball, but baseball is my number one sport. I am a team leader, always encouraging my teammates no matter what is happening. I stay positive and never let my emotions get to me on the field or at bat. My dream is to play for Vanderbilt University, but I am open to all schools no matter where they are located and no matter their size, Division etc. I will gladly consider schools in all Divisions. I intend to evaluate all of my options. I plan to get a business degree and attend graduate school and obtain my Master’s in Business. I am an honor student and excel academically. I push myself to be the best I can both on the field and off. It is my desire to play as a freshman at the best school I can and to make an impact both through my skill as a player and leadership qualities. On a more personal note, I am an outgoing person who has spent the past four summers at a sleepaway Camp in Pennsylvania where I played in the camp baseball league. I enjoy traveling and spending time with friends and family.
