My name is Gavin Beuter, Class of 2022 Three Rivers High School, Three Rivers Michigan. I am 6’3” and weigh 175 pounds. I have been playing baseball since the age of 6. Out of all the sports I have played, and currently play, baseball has always been my passion. Like most other kids I started in our local little league, where I learned the basics of the game. At the age of 10 my family and I decided to move to travel baseball full time, for many reasons but primarily to receive better coaching and knowledge of the game. We didn't look for the best teams with the most wins. We looked for teams that had the best coaching and organizations to increase my overall knowledge and skills. At the age of 11, I started working with personal trainers for hitting and pitching and continue to this day. I have always been an infielder, primarily third and second but I have always loved pitching. Being able to control the game and the battle with the hitter has always been the best part of the game for me.
Over the past several years I have been fortunate to play with and be coached by some great people. Especially the last two years playing for Elite baseball out of Grand Rapids. The coaches were two former college players and trainers. They are the ones which have pushed me to follow my dream to play baseball in college. The one pitching coach helped make the arrangements for me to be on a more advanced team, the Kalamazoo Maroons 17U. The Maroons travel longer distances for tournaments mostly in the Midwest and South, so I could get greater exposure to college coaches.
I am in my sophomore year, and will be playing my second year of Varsity Baseball for Three Rivers. As well as this summer I will be playing for the Kalamazoo Maroons 17U. I am a three sport athlete. In 2019 my sophomore year I played football for the first time in high school. I had the honor of being the starting Quarterback for our JV team. We had a 6 and 3 record and I threw for over 1200 yards and 19 touch downs. I also play basketball where I play forward for the JV team. So far this year I am averaging 17 points a game.
My goals for high school and college are to maintain or better my GPA, and move into advanced classes. This will further help me in my planned college degree of Civil Engineering or Construction Science. I have always had the desire to design and build. Being able to design a structure and help to construct it has always been a great interest to me.
In conclusion I would love the chance to play at the next level. I am a hard worker and I will always do my best on and off the field. I am motivated to get better every day. I've been told by my coaches that I'm very coachable and a good listener. I’m a leader and can handle the pressure of the big play or game.
