My name is Sonny Peluchette, I am a 5'9 165 pound 2020 Graduate middle infielder from Wheeling, West Virigina. I have been playing baseball all my life, and there is nothing more I love than competeting on the Diamond. I have had multiple coaches, former and current collegiate baseball players, and professional players who have told me I have the talent to play baseball in college at any level.
What separates me from other student athletes is my strong will to achieve my goals. When stepping on a diamond, whether its our home field or away, you will always see me giving 100% effort. I sprint on and off the field and try to ignite a spark for my team. You can hear me and know how much I love this game from when I first arrive to the park to when I leave the field. I am very serious about doing everything in my power to help my team win. From getting hit with a pitch to get a baserunner on, hitting a sacrifice fly to score a run, or even a fielders choice bunt to move a runner. If it helps my team, ill do it. What also separtes me is I have a calender. This isnt an ordinary calender its my goal calender. Everyday I fill in the 3 things I did today to get help me get closer to my goal of playing D1 baseball. Example are - a strenght workout, a speed and agility workout, a baseball workout, and my nightly routine which consists of 100 or more pushups and a series of wrist, forearm and ab workouts. I also have goal signs across my room constantly reminding me of where im going in the future.
I have worked hard at increasing my stregnth so that I could add power to my hitting. This has helped me become a dominite force in the lineup which I am today. I am a right handed batter that can hit on any side of the field. With my growth spurt still ahead of me, you will be surprised with my power and bat speed. I have always been a dominite force defensively/ Whether its in the middle infield, the hot corners, or even the outfield.
I finished my freshman year at Wheeling Central Catholic HS with a 3.4 GPA in the honors program.
I am very determined to continue my athletic and academic career in college wherever I may go. I know there are excellent baseball programs in every Divison of the NCAA's, so I have an open mind at this point. I am looking for a college where I can continue to grow academically and athletically under experienced coaches and teachers while playing at a high level of competitve baseball.
Regarding school size I am open to any size school as long as long as i feel the connection with the team and school. I am willing to travel across the United States to fulfill my dream of playing College Baseball and bring my skills and mentality to help your school win.
I very much appreciate you taking time out of your day to read my personal statement, and good luck in your upcoming baseball season.
