Jiovel Lantigua '19 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jiovel Lantigua. I am a 2019 graduate at F.W Springstead Highschool in Spring Hill, Florida.
I have been enrolled in Honors classes since freshman year with a standing G.P.A of 3.8. I currently play travel ball with the Florida Stealth Red coached by Manny Sanguillen Jr. and with my highschool team coached by Shawn Laferty. My primary position is first base, my secondary is right field, and my third will be pitching.  I have mastered the 4-seam with good movement, a 12-6 curveball, and a splitter, with the cutter still in the works. I have played many Perfect Game tournaments and made the All-Tournament Team, 6 times. I have participated in Prospect Wire as well, where i had an 88 mph outfield velocity reading.  Also won a Home-Run Derby at Perfect Game at the 2016 BCS Finals. I have been the heart in the middle of the line up on every team I had played since I was 12 years old and my goal is to continue to do so. I want to, and i work to be one of the greatest hitters in the conference, if not the best. I'm always giving advice and doing batting practice with teammates, staying humble 100% of the time.  Moving away from the field, my classroom performance is always at its best.  Being a student-athlete, school is always on the top of my list.  I'm respectful, responsible, and courteous to my peers, and teachers.  I'm always willing to help a kid out after school with homework or just some study help.  Not only do I want to be successful, but I also want my peers to be successful as well, i know they would want the same. I live for the game I love, and that's how it will always be.
