Jack Johnson '24 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing baseball since I was five years old.  I have been practicing and watching the game as long as I can remember.  Ultimately, with the goal of playing at the collegiate level. 

Throughout Little League and travel ball, I was always smaller and younger but that never bothered me.  I played with the older kids to get better and would earn a starting spot through working hard and never underestimating myself. I have always been a student of the game and have a high baseball IQ.  My entire career I've been brought into games/situations that weren't always the most favorable such as the bases being loaded no outs, tying run on base. I've been known to keep my composure no matter what the situation is. My freshman year I was brough in during a regional semifinal game where we losing, our starter had to be taken out for back spasms and I had to come in to get the last out while our reliever warmed up.  We got that out and back to win the game.  My junior year I earned the Mr. Clutch award for getting the job done these tough situations and for being the winning pitcher getting two hits offensively in our semi final regional win.  

Off the field, I have maintained a high GPA with taking honors/AP classes while balancing my practice and workout schedules.  I also have been a volunteer with the City of Dunedin athletics programs.  The same programs I participated in throughout my youth.  

I want to attend a college that will push me both academically and athletically.  I am open to all options and want to be a part of a program that I can contribute to.
