As an Honors/AP Student, I have taken advantage of several unique academic opportunities presented through our district. The Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Engineering Academy allows me to take college level courses with an ERAU professor as part of my regular curriculum. Additionally, I will earn an Associate Degree in the Dual Enrollment program partnered with Indian River State College.
As a sophomore in Spring 2018, I enjoyed stepping into a leadership role for our JV team. As the starting catcher, I caught 16 out of our 17 games allowing only 2 passed balls, caught 12 stealing for a 40% rate, and was trusted with calling the pitches. I also led our team in batting from the 3 spot finishing the season with the highest average, most runs created, most runs scored, and second most RBIs. In recognition of my successful efforts, I was selected as an end of season call up to the Varsity team.
As a member of the Book and Chess Clubs, I am given the chance to interact with my classmates in a social environment and expand my interests. To give back to our community and serve others, I participate as an Altar Server at St. James Orthodox Church and volunteer as a valuable team member for our annual, weekend long Greek Festival.
By learning to balance my rigorous course load, demanding baseball schedule, and extracurricular activities along with volunteering, I am preparing myself and looking forward to the academic and athletic challenges the next level brings.
