Aside from playing college baseball I want to pursue a career in finance. One experience that helped me prepare for life, was moving to the Dominican Republic after 8th grade. While I was there, I had the opportunity to join Denio Gonzalez’ Academy. Coach Gonzalez is the Dominican Republic WBC hitting coach. Being trained by him, helped me develop tremendously as a player, especially my hitting skills. Living at the academy meant practicing twice a day from Monday to Friday, learning a personalized workout routine and carrying it out on my own, and following coaches’ instructions/schedules. Being away from home, also meant doing my own laundry, managing my allowance, and keeping my space clean. This experience taught me a lot about myself. I was able to ratify how passionate I am about the sport, how disciplined I am in general, and how well I can work with other players and my coaches.
