Rafael Hernandez '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Rafael Hernandez, I'm 5'8 and I play catcher. I might not be 6 feet but I have the heart and power to compete against any other player coming for my position and that gives me motivation every day to work hard in everything I do. I’m currently a Senior at Belen Preparatory High School in Miami, FL.  My ultimate dream is to continue playing baseball in college and even get a chance to get to the pros; it doesn’t matter where I play, I just know that it’s been a dream of mine my entire life to play baseball in college.  I love the game of baseball.  Ever since the first time I picked up a baseball in the boys and girls club in Coral Gables, Fl, I’ve been in love with this game and I know this is what I was meant to do with my life.  Nobody else in my family has had the opportunity to play in college and I want to achieve that for myself.  I also want to use baseball as a tool to help me get a great education.  I’m a hard worker and a leader in the field and I believe I can be a valuable asset to any college program.  Ultimately, playing in college is going to make my family proud and that’s what drives me the very most.
