Damarqueaz "Dee" Covey '19 Recruiting Profile

I would like to take a few minutes introduce myself. I am a three year starter at Newberry High School, just west of Gainesville, Florida. As a freshman I was HM All-Area Gainesville Sun and was named MVP of the Regional Playoffs, by Prep Zone. My sophomore campaign I was named team captain, 2nd Team All-Area Gainesville Sun, and Team Defensive MVP. I have started 48 games, mostly in centerfield, but I played left field exclusively this year. I normally hit in the two or three hole, and led the team in rbi, my sophomore year, but this year I hit leadoff, and led the team in batting average .373, hits (31), and runs (33). I have a pretty busy schedule planned for this summer. I have already started summer baseball workouts at Newberry High, followed up by a local tournament in St. Petersburg with P.R.O. Youth Foundation coached by Chip Lawrence (SD Padres National Cross-Checker), Black Bear Classic (Greenville, SC 6/20-6/23) with CBC Rebels Scout Team, MLB Breakthrough Series at Pirate City (Bradenton, FL 6/24-6/28), WWBA 17U (Atlanta,GA 6/29-7/6) with CBC Rebels Scout, and the M.V.P. Mentoring Viable Prospects Tournament (Atlanta, GA 7/20-7/22). So as you can see I am playing a ton of baseball, without the obligation of football workouts. I am currently uncommitted and undecided about whether I want to attend a 2-yr or 4-yr school, but I am exploring all opportunities, at this time.
