My love of baseball started early. My parents would watch the Detroit Tigers every night, and I would lie on the couch with my Mom at 8 months old and watch with them. By 18 months old, I was hitting a big plastic baseball using a broken Little Tykes golf club handle. By the age of two, I was knocking picture frames off the walls
I have always loved baseball as far back as I can remember. I think it's one of the most challenging of all sports. Baseball is a thinking game, as well as a game of action. I have always loved being challenged, and baseball definitely gives me that challenge that I love.
My positions have included pitcher, all outfield positions, and first base, but my main interests and talents are with pitching and center field. I have taken pitching lessons since I was 8 years old, which was the beginning of my travel ball career. I continue to take weekly lessons with a former MLB pitcher to this day.
I also wrestled from age 4 through age 9. I won three state titles. I played football for three years and excelled as running back and corner back.
With baseball being such a huge part of my life, I feel the sport has helped me develope a lot of desirable qualities that would make me an asset on your team. It has taught me to be a team player, as well as to work hard on my own to develope my skills. I certainly learned that doing well in school is key to being able to play in high school as well as college. Baseball has taught me to work hard and always keep improving. I've learned that a positive attitude goes a long way with coaches, team mates, and even the umpires.
I've always had the desire to be the best I can be at whatever I do. I maintain a 3.5+ gpa (4.0+ weighted). I am in the Cambridge AICE Program at my high school, which is very challenging, but I continue to work hard with every challenge it brings.
I am looking forward to finding a school that will give me a well rounded college experience. I want it to provide me a great education, as well as an opportunity to follow my life-long dream of playing college baseball.
